AMS Platform

The Design Problem

AMS stands for Advisor Management System, a digital platform that supports business leaders in tracking objectives and key results, accountability, and goals. The platform is a business management system that includes the organization's structure, resources, and strategic planning frameworks to help firm leaders. It also includes optional business coaching. My design team has been collaborating with other teams across Corporate Strategy to shape the platform's experience.

The Approach

Before starting to create prototypes for the platform, our team focused on evaluating critical elements of the interface: audience, how the user interacted with the platform, and the platform’s purpose and integration.

We ran a Competitor Audit to assess other learning platforms and consider existing features and frameworks that could apply to AMS. Then, we defined four possible user scenarios and mapped the user flow. In this phase, we were trying to understand how the user interacts with the platform and accesses modules, resources, and tools. A central part of the process was clarifying who the users were that we were designing for and ideating possible solutions and flows that reflected a valuable experience.

After that, we started designing concepts for different sections of the platform, which later developed into more complex low-fidelity wireframes.

The Deliverables

The project was then handed off to other teams, including Engineering, who coded and tested the platform with clients through a series of MVPs. This iterative approach allowed the team to validate features with real users early on and refine the platform based on direct feedback before wider rollout.

As the project evolved, I created visuals, diagrams, and charts to help clarify how the different programs applied to advisors, translating complex frameworks into formats that were easier to understand and act on. I also designed supporting tools that served two purposes: some were incorporated directly into the platform as a set of downloadable resources, while others were used as standalone documents to support one-on-one business coaching consultations.
